Outreach Table: New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (NECWA)
The New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (NECWA) is an all-volunteer nonprofit that works to rescue and research marine wildlife that strand along the shores of Cape Cod. NECWA focuses on those “misfit” species that are overlooked by other organizations, including the ocean sunfish, torpedo ray, triggerfish, seabirds, and sea ducks. NECWA combines research with educational outreach and conservation management, supporting NECWA’s research and that of other scientists in the US and around the world. In many of NECWA’s projects, we collaborate with interested members of the public, training them to assist staff and interns on the beach, in the classroom, and in the lab.
