Brewster Ladies' Library Introduction to Mindfulness
Please note that registration is for the whole series, which includes 4 programs. The dates for the programs are March 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th.
This spring, ground yourself firmly in the present, with this four-session introduction to mindfulness. If you are curious about mindfulness and would like to learn more, this introductory program will provide you with information and resources to cultivate mindfulness in your own life. Each session will feature a different type of mindfulness meditation, and will include information, practice, and discussion. Our optional text (copies available at the library) is Mindfulness for Beginners by Jon Kabat-Zinn. In the text, Kabat-Zinn defines mindfulness as “awareness, cultivated by paying attention in a sustained and particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.”
This program is offered by Lesley University Mindfulness Studies master's degree graduate and library staff member Joanne Clingan. For more information, please contact Joanne at jclingan@brewsterladieslibrary.org
