CCMNH: White Shark Research Update
The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
Presents the
White Shark Research Update
with
Dr. Greg Skomal
BREWSTER, MA —The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster will be hosting Dr. Greg Skomal of the Massachusetts Shark Research Program on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Doors will open for wine and hors d’oeuvres at 6 pm. Lecture at 6:30pm.
For the last 14 years, Dr. Skomal has been studying the life history, ecology, and behavior of white sharks off the coast of Cape Cod and beyond. In doing so, he has tagged almost 300 white sharks with a variety of new state-of-the-art technologies to drill deeper into how this top predator hunts seals off our coastline, as well as striving to reduce the incidence of shark and human interactions.
Dr. Skomal is an accomplished marine biologist, charismatic speaker, and senior fisheries biologist with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries since 1987. He currently heads up the Massachusetts Shark Research Program and he has been directing the scientific research on Great White Sharks off the coast of Cape Cod for more than a decade.
Join us on June 15th for an exciting update on this research.
The presentation is $60 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History’s education programs.
