Cape Cod Musuem of Natural History hosts Fungus Fair 2026

Learn how to safely forage for mushrooms, discover the incredible mycological species of Cape Cod, and bring that mysterious fungi from your own back yard to be identified in the first ever Fungus Fair being held at Cape Cod Museum of Natural History on Saturday, October 10 from 9am. Presented in partnership with the Cape Cod Mycological Society and Brewster Chamber of Commerce, the all-day event will see demonstrations and displays put on for anyone with an interest in the diversity of our local ecosystem. Each session, running for around one hour and forty-five minutes, will have highlights including: Learn the basics of mushrooming Take part in cultivation demos Bring your own fungi to be identified Discover the colorful palette of mushroom dyes that textile artists can achieve There will also be vendor tables selling mushroom merchandise, including t-shirts. Sessions run at 9am —10:45am, 11am — 12:45pm and 1pm — 2:45pm. Tickets are available at ccmnh.org priced at $35 for Museum members and $40 non-members.
