Cape Cod Museum of Natural History White Shark Research Update
The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster will be hosting Dr. Greg Skomal of the Massachusetts Shark Research Program on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Doors will open for wine and hors d’oeuvres at 6 pm. Lecture at 6:30pm. For the last 16 years, Dr. Greg Skomal has been studying the life history, ecology, and behavior of white sharks off the coast of Cape Cod and beyond. In doing so, he has tagged more than 300 white sharks with a variety of new state-of-the art technologies that drill deeper into how this top predator hunts seals off our coastline, and which strive to reduce the incidence of human-shark interactions. Dr. Greg Skomal is a senior fisheries biologist with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries and currently directs the Massachusetts Shark Research Program. Skomal has authored dozens of scientific research papers and has appeared in several film and television documentaries, including programs for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, PBS, and numerous television networks and a regular on Shark Week and Shark Fest. The presentation is $60 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History’s education programs. Reservations are required: Tickets available online at www.ccmnh.org. For more information, please call the Museum at 508-896-3867 ext. 133
