Cape Cod Museum of Natural History Screening of "Homegrown National Park(TM)" featuring Entomologist Dr. Doug Tallamy
The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presents a screening of "Homegrown National Park(TM)", a recorded lecture featuring Dr. Doug Tallamy on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Explore why our parks, preserves, and remaining wild land, no matter how vast, are not enough to sustain our ecosystems. Learn about the importance of private lands and how a collective effort by landowners, managers, and civilians is crucial. Discover how small steps, such as reducing lawns, planting natives, and removing invasives, can contribute to the restoration of 20 million acres, equivalent to half of our current lawn area. Be part of this national movement for a healthier environment. Doug Tallamy, author of New York Time’s bestselling book Nature’s Best Hope is a professor in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware. Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities.
