Brewster Ladies' Library Discovery & Enrichment Series Presents Trees and Forests: Last of a 3-Part Series on Brewster's Environmental Challenges
The public is invited to the last of a three-part series of programs this winter that have offered insight and a discussion opportunity on environmental topics of local importance. The final program on March 26 will talk about the role of trees and forests in Brewster’s past, present, and future. Please join us for this enlightening forum that will explore the balance between our environmental and aesthetic concerns with our energy solutions. Historically, trees have served as fuel, building material, and an economic commodity on the Cape. Today, they store climate-warming carbon, filter our water, and provide habitat to wildlife, making them key environmental players. Additionally, they populate the signature green space that is the heart of Brewster's rural character. As the emphasis on solar grows ever stronger, it becomes especially important to consider the role of trees and forests going forward.
