Brewster Ladies' Library Assoc. Discovery & Enrichment Series Presents Opening Night: Behind the Scenes with Cape Rep

Celebrate a passion for theater on Valentine’s Day! Joining us is Janine Perry, Producing Artistic Director of Cape Rep Theatre, Brewster’s own professional company. Perry will share the creative journey to “opening night,” which is a watershed moment in the history of every theater production. She will also talk about the theater’s vision and commitment to provide a shared space for us to be part of this world. Perry has served in a variety of roles at Cape Rep Theatre since 1991 and has been Producing Artistic Director since 2003. She has had artistic and production oversight of over 100 plays and musicals and takes particular interest in new plays by local playwrights. She has written several plays produced by Cape Rep Theatre: The Distance Between Us, If We Meet Again, Elijah Cobb, Beach Glass, and Xingu and Other Stories (an adaptation of three Edith Wharton short stories which starred Julie Harris). The Distance Between Us was also produced at the Ring Theatre in Miami and at other venues on and off Cape Cod and was adapted for elementary, middle, and high school students in Cape Rep Theatre’s Outreach Program. She is also proud to have served as Trustee and President of the Brewster Ladies’ Library Association many years ago.
