Born in El Salvador, Journalist and photographer Rachael Devaney was adopted by a Cape Cod family in 1978, and spent her childhood in Centerville. In April of 2018, she was reunited with her birth family, opening up another world to her that she had previously only imagined. In images and words, her photo essay Matriarchal Strength tells the story of this complex and beautiful journey.
