This November, the Brewster Ladies’ Library is excited to showcase the works of artist, Rebekah L. Fraser. Her exhibit “Trashique” will be on display in the Library auditorium from Saturday, November 2 to Saturday, November 30. The public is invited to come meet the artist at her reception Saturday, November 2 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Rebekah Fraser is a multi-media artist, working in prose, trash fashion & painting. Author of the novel, The Orderly, and the nonfiction book, A Farmer’s Guide to Climate Disruption, she is currently working on her third book, a romance novel with an environmental theme. Through writing and art, Fraser explores parallels between the dismantling of Earth and the built environment through climate change; and the dismantling of our social fabric as seen through the dissolution of family, community, and societal structures. Her latest body of work is an ongoing series of paintings called, “Control & Release.” In “Trashique,” Fraser combines upcycled fabrics with a variety of materials including paint rags, found objects, and food labels to create eco-friendly, wearable art. This exhibit is sponsored by the Brewster Ladies’ Library. Please call the Library at (508) 896-3913 before your visit, as the exhibition space is simultaneously used for other programming and is not always accessible to the public for viewing.
