On Saturday, October 16, the Alzheimer's Family Support Center will kick off our Alzheimer's Walk weekend with an exclusive sneak preview of a remarkable film about long-time Cape Cod resident Greg O'Brien. Directed by Steve Ecclesine, HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT GREG attempts to put a human face Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The heart of the story is the resilient spirit of the O'Brien family that has already lost several family members in their fight against Alzheimer’s. O'Brien, a lifelong award winning investigative reporter, was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at the age of 59 and has committed his QTR (Quality Time Remaining) to getting people talking about this quiet killer and increase the research funding. This is a unique cinematic journey through Alzheimer's with Faith, Hope and Humor featuring an array of dedicated experts who have joined the fight who will hopefully inspire you to get involved.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Steve Ecclesine and Greg O'Brien. Because this will be their largest and most informed audience to date, they will be welcoming feedback about your experience of the film.
Although the screening will be free and open to the public, you must register in advance to receive the link to attend. Please click here to register. Include your first and last name, phone number, mailing address, and email address: Sign me up for Alzheimer's Cultural Day! You will receive the link to attend via Zoom on Friday, October 15.
