Hear the story of how river herring in a local waterway responded when several aging dams were removed from their migration path. Abigail Archer and Grace Simpkins from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Sea Grant will present findings from their six-year tagging study on Town Brook in Plymouth. They will also involve the audience in testing and evaluating a new hands-on activity designed to help middle school students learn about river herring migration. Feedback from the audience will help the team implement this lesson in Plymouth and Cape Cod classrooms.
