DESCRIPTION:The Community Development Partnership is offering a Homebuyer Education course for first time buyers. This course provides information on budgeting\, looking for\, selecting\, and purchasing a home\, and local resources that may be available to buyers. To date\, over 500 First Time Home Buyers have received certification through this CDP workshop.\n\n\n\nThe Homebuyer Education Course has received the Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative's "Seal of Approval" from the Citizens' Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA). Graduates are eligible for discounted mortgage products.\n\n\n\nThe workshop covers credit health and budgeting\, mortgage process and options\, finding the right home and making an offer\, appraisals\, home inspection\, legal procedures and protections\, insurance protection\, home energy audits and savings\, and advice about ongoing homeownership. \n\n\n\nThe course consists of 3 three-hour long classes and participants must attend all three classes to receive their Certificate of Completion. Classes will be held from 6:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday\, October 17\, Monday\, October 22\, and Wednesday\, October 24 at the Community Development Partnership in Eastham.
