Doors open at 6:00pm: Enjoy wine & hors d'oeuvres\, explore the Museum\, Lecture at 7:00pm.* \n\n \n\nMeet Brian Skerry award-winning National Geographic underwater photographer\, author\, and \n\na highly sought after lecturer. Brian uses his international platform to draw attention to the many environmental problems plaguing the sea and offers hope through stories of the ocean's resilience. On this very special evening Brian will present his inspiring lecture on Secrets of the Whales\, also the 2021 Emmy Award Winner for Outstanding Documentary or Non-Fiction Series at the Creative Arts Awards. \n\n \n\nUnique within the field of underwater photography is Skerry's ability to pursue subjects of great diversity. His nearly year-round assignment schedule frequently finds him in environments of extreme contrast from tropical coral reefs to diving beneath polar ice. While on assignment he has lived on the bottom of the sea\, spent months aboard fishing boats\, and traveled in everything from snowmobiles to canoes to the Goodyear blimp to get the picture. \n\n \n\nHis accolades\, awards\, and recognition are extensive\, emphasizing his passion\, \n\nbravery\, energy\, and excellence in the pursuit of ocean conservation through photojournalism. \n\nIn this quest\, Brian is also founder and Director of Ocean Matters\, an organization that engages \n\nteens from around the world who serve as ambassadors for the ocean.
