A native of Worcester\, MA\, Gessner spent his childhood summers in an East Dennis cottage\, and cultivated his love of the natural world right here on Cape Cod. Gessner's previous work has been published in the New York Times Magazine\, Outside\, and Orion\, and he is the founder of the literary magazine Ecotone.
