DESCRIPTION:Researchers from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary will be broadcasting live to the public as they document the wreck of the paddle wheel Steamship Portland often labeled "the Titanic of New England."  \n\n \n\nScientists will be aboard the Research Vessel Connecticut using state-of-the-art imaging technology\, including 360-degree cameras used for virtual reality filming\, linking through the University of Rhode Island's Inner Space Center.\n\n \n\nThe Portland was sunk during a storm in 1898 off the coast of Cape Ann\, and is currently within the federally-protected waters of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary.
