SUMMARY:Brewster Ladies' Library Sunday Concert Series: Joan Kirchner\, Soprano\, with Art McManus on Piano
DESCRIPTION:Join us as Art McManus plays piano and Joan Kirchner sings classical music for the soprano across centuries.\n\nIn a region rich with musical talent\, Joan Kirchner is a stand-out. Joan first came to prominence in the 1990s as a soloist for oratorio\, opera\, and recital repertoire. Whether she is delivering a witty\, inventive rendering of Cole Porter or an insightful twist on a medieval work\, Joan Kirchner engages and uplifts her audiences with the beauty and clarity of her voice\, her lively imagination\, and her charismatic stage presence.\n\nArt McManus has been coming to Cape Cod since the 1970s\, when his parents retired here. He moved here full-time in 2000 after a 24-year career as an editor at Reader's Digest magazine. He moved to the Cape with the intention of continuing to edit (for several years Orleans was the home of the well-known column "It Pays To Enrich Your Word Power") and pursuing his passion for surf fishing. All too soon\, though\, the seals ruined the fishing and he found himself making music more than editing words.
