DESCRIPTION:The THUNDERCHILD Show is a touring blues and soul concert by Mwalim DaPhunkee Professor\, who recently released the album THUNDERCHILD. The show is a concert of his original music\, performing as a singer\, guitarist and keyboardist and accompanied by a percussionist. This program is supported in part by the Brewster Cultural Council and the Osborne Trust. \n\n\n\nAbout Mwalim\n\n\n\nMwalim "DaPhunkee Professor" is a multi-award-winning composer\, musician\, theater artist\, writer\, media producer\, and educator whose works span the mediums of music\, theater\, literature\, film\, television\, and multimedia installations. He began playing music at age 10\, and before turning 14 he performed at Carnegie Hall. By 16\, he was one of the youngest session players in EMI history. Mwalim is a three-time recipient of the New England Urban Music Awards for jazz. He is the keyboardist and a resident songwriter for the multi-Grammy-nominated soul-funk band\, The GroovaLottos\, and is the head of production at Polyphonic Studios in Wareham. He is a tenured professor of English\,\n\nCommunications and Black Studies at UMass Dartmouth. Mwalim is on tour with his latest album\, THUNDERCHILD.
