SUMMARY:Brewster Ladies' Library presents The Seven Fires Prophecy Suite for Humanity
DESCRIPTION:The Seven Fires Prophecy Suite for Humanity is the story of the Aninshinaabe legend "The Seven Fires Prophecy."\n\nAbout the Musicians\n\nAward winning singer/songwriter Kim Moberg was born in Juneau\, Alaska\, the daughter of a classical pianist mother of Alaskan Native Tlingit descent and a US Coast Guard veteran father from Kansas. Music was the constant in Kim's childhood\, helping her to adjust to the frequent moves associated with growing up in a military family.\n\nAt the age of 14\, Kim began playing acoustic guitar on a borrowed nylon 6-string\, but debilitating stage fright kept her from pursuing her dream of becoming a professional performer. In 2014 Kim set out to overcome her stage fright and wrote her first song.\n\nKim teamed with Grammy-nominated producer Jon Evans to record three albums\, all receiving worldwide airplay in addition to charting on the Folk Alliance International Folk DJ and NACC radio charts. Kim's latest release The Seven Fires Prophecy Suite for Humanity features songs that tie ancient Anishinaabe prophecies to our current social environment. Kim and Jon are in the process of finishing her 4th album titled All That Really Matters\, scheduled to be released in this year.\n\nKim has received numerous recognitions\, most recently 2021 Rocky Mountain Songwriting Contest Finalist\, 2021 Great American Songwriting Contest Folk/Americana Finalist\, 2020 CT Folk Grassy Hill Songwriting Competition Winner\, 2020 Blues and Roots Radio Contest Finalist and 2020 Corpus Christi Songwriters Spring Songwriters Contest 2nd Place.\n\nA strong believer that music brings us together and holds the power to affect change\, Kim is an augural member of Club Passim's The Folk Collective\, an initiative founded in 2022 to present inclusive and equitable events that welcome and invite diverse audiences and artists to the Passim stage and beyond. \n\nKim invites listeners to join her musical stories with a combination of rich vocals (described as "a blend of honey and whiskey") and skillful guitar work. Learn more at www.kimmobergmusic.com\n\nHeather Swanson is a classical violinist who crossed over to folk and traditional Celtic music. Raised in the Boston area\, she played in the pit orchestra each year for the Gilbert & Sullivan shows and traveled with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony which led her to study music at Boston University and UMass/Lowell. She is a music educator\, specializing in the Suzuki Method at her private studio. \n\nHeather has performed with her cellist daughter Krista Lucich as the Cape Violin Cello Duo\, as accompanist for Singer/Songwriter Kim Moberg and in an Irish Duo featuring Traditional Irish Folk music. She also lends her talents to the pit band at Cotuit Center for the Arts in Cotuit in sold out productions such as More Women Rock and the upcoming production of Fiddler on the Roof.\n\nHeather's first CD titled Beside Quiet Waters\, recorded and produced by Grammy-nominated producer Jon Evans\, was released in 2019 and is a collection of traditional and contemporary Celtic tunes. You keep up with Heather's show announcements by following her Cape Violin Cello Duo Facebook page.
