SUMMARY:Brewster Ladies' Library presents Screening of Keys\, Bags\, Names\, Words
DESCRIPTION:Keys Bags Names Words is a hopeful and inspiring lens portraying stories of both the personal and global impacts of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia\, while following a cohort of young scientists and artists from around the world as they harness every aspect of creativity\, humor and compassion to lead the way towards hope and resilience. \n\nThe people in this film are not famous. Those we profile are everyday people facing dementia with courage and grace as a patient\, a caregiver\, or a professional helping patients and families cope and even thrive. The professionals are doctors and scientists\, but also artists and policy experts. One is a ten-year-old boy whose father has Alzheimer's disease\, so he embarks on an exhaustive letter-writing campaign culminating in his testimony before the US Congress. The film captures intimate portraits of families and insights from world leaders in the field of brain health who shed light on the urgency of this global challenge and what each of us can do to promote our own brain health and connect to those around us who have dementia. \n\nThis screening is offered in partnership with the Alzheimer's Family Support Center and the Brewster Council on Aging.
