DESCRIPTION:Join the Brewster Cultural Council and Brewster Ladies' Library for an afternoon of food! The first hour of our program will be a discussion with John Carafoli\, cookbook author and regular contributor to Edible Cape Cod\, and Nicole Cormier\, RD\, cookbook author and Program Coordinator of Delicious Living Nutrition. They will discuss how they became interested in working with food\, the changes they've seen on the Cape Cod food scene\, and there will be time for audience questions.\n\nStay for the second hour of our program to take advantage of local food vendors\, including Husk Cherry Bakehouse\, The Optimal Kitchen\, and coffee from Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters.\n\nAbout Our Guests\n\nJohn Carafoli wrote the seminal book Food Photography and Styling\, two children's cookbooks\, Look Who's Cooking and The Cookie Cookbook and Cape Cod Chef's Table\, Recipes from Buzzards Bay to Provincetown\, Great Italian American Food in New England\, History\, Traditions & Memories\, and his latest book\, Great Cape Cod Food Finds. He has been published in Gastronomica\, The Journal of Food and Culture\, The New York Times\, The Boston Globe\, Bon Appetite\, L'italo-Americano Italian newspaper\, The National Italian American Foundation's Ambassador Magazine and Edible Cape Cod where he won an EDDY for Best use of Recipes in a feature and has been profiled in the Italian publication of ER (Emilia Romagna). In addition to presenting papers at the Oxford Symposium on Food and Cookery in England\, he has organized the biannual International Conference on Food Styling and Photography at Boston University. She indulges her passion for nutrition and local foods on beautiful Cape Cod through her nutrition therapy practice\, Delicious Living Nutrition\, and Dietetic Internship. Her collaborations with local chefs\, non-profits\, schools\, farmers' markets\, restaurants\, and art centers include programs\, dinners\, workshops and educational tables. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts and the Beth Israel Deaconess Dietetic Internship in 2006. After following her passions\, she has been mentoring nutrition students through Summer Internships and founded the DLN Dietetic Internship that welcomed their first class in January 2020.
